Green Wings Project is enjoying significant progress as shown by our debut as a registered charity at Vaper Expo UK 2024, the biggest vape event in Europe. This year’s Expo was a platform to showcase our initiatives, while the support shown to us from the attendees, including many from the industry, was a vibrant testament towards sustainable vaping practices.
Innovative Artistic Installation and Engaging Initiatives
Thanks to the generosity of Vaper Expo UK, we were provided with a complimentary stand that became the focal point for our educational and environmental advocacy. Among the highlights were the multiple Green Wings Project recycling bins installed across the exhibition site, enabling easy access for attendees to dispose of their used vapes responsibly. We also placed a one square metre acrylic cube filled with used vapes close to the popular Bar and Grill area of the exhibition, vividly illustrating the alarming rate at which disposable vapes are discarded in the UK every minute.

In the UK, 14 MILLION single-used vapes are being bought every month and more than 50% of them gets disposed irresponsibly,* posing serious risks to children and animals. When incinerated, they harm the environment by generating greenhouse gases. When buried in landfill, they increase plastic and lithium pollution. Our powerful visual installation, served as reminder for the urgent need for responsible consumption and disposal of electronic waste, and encouraged the attendees to reflect upon their lifestyle and actions.

Fundraising, Community Engagement and Educational Outreach
Our presence at the Expo also focused on active community engagement. We offered attendees a priority delivery of recycling bins, on a donation basis, and we conducted on-site fundraising to support our ongoing initiatives. These efforts are vital in enhancing our recycling infrastructure and expanding our reach to educate more people about sustainable vaping practices.
“Attending this year’s Vaper Expo UK has been a pivotal moment for Green Wings Project,” said Neil Robinson, CEO of Green Wings Project. “We are delighted by the community’s enthusiastic response. We are grateful for the generous contributions to our project that have assisted us in our mission to combat e-waste and promote environmental sustainability.”

Looking Forward
Following the success of our participation in Vaper Expo UK 2024, we are doubling our efforts to increase our impact. We aim to lead by example, advocating for sustainable practices and responsible e-waste management across industries and communities.
As a charity organisation, we are delivering a Free Recycling Service through a small and dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Given the high demands regarding our recycling bins, courier collections and amount of vapes that we recycle, it would help us tremendously if you DONATE via this link to keep our service running.
